Why Coaching???

Think about it this way...many of the great people throughout history that have accomplished extraordinary things have all had a coach or mentor. If you have a desire to ensure that when you look back on your life you don't say, "what if" or "what might have been" - than get a coach!

Take a look at all of these icons...they've all had coaches/mentors:

  • Helen Keller had Anne Sullivan

  • Plato had Socrates

  • Tiger Woods had Earl Woods and many others

So, What Exactly is Coaching?

Coaching is...

A Relationship:

Coaching is a professional relationship that enhances the client's ability to effectively focus on learning, make changes, achieve desired goals, and experience rapid change.

Essential Elements of Coaching
Occurs over time. After the initial 90 minute intake call, you will have three or four monthly, thirty-minute to forty-five minute telephone conferences with your coach.

  • Coaching fosters discovery and self learning.

  • Coaching builds awareness and responsibility.

  • Coaching asks provocative questions which facilitates clarity, focus and an understanding of what is really important to you.

Coaching also serves as a source of welcomed and needed accountability to ensure that the actions you say are important to you are actually implemented.

Coaching is Not...

Therapy:

Although the process and results of coaching can be therapeutic, coaching is not therapy. The focus of coaching is identifying target performance and developing strategic actions and thinking processes that will move toward the achievement of those target goals.

Consulting:

Consulting offers answers and expertise in a specific area. Coaching facilitates discovery by assisting clients in finding their own unique answers.

Training:

In training, there is a specific learning agenda, and the trainer's job is to provide a structure for learning a specific skills set or body of information. With coaching, the client designs the agenda and the coach's job is to hold the focus on whatever agenda the client designs.

Client Success Stories

"Todd, I just wanted to extend to you my sincere appreciation for all of the changes that I've been able to make, since I've started working with you. It's only been 2 months and I've lost 28 pounds, my clothing store has increased revenues by 38% and I finally went sky-diving. Something that I was promising to myself for over 14 years. Who knew life could be this much fun! After each of our sessions I truly feel unstoppable, not only then but throughout the week. A million thank you's!"
John Barry - Brisbane, Australia

"Dear Mr. Herman, I wanted to send you a quick note, because I don't know if after you do one of your presentations, if you ever think whether or not you've made an impact on the strangers in the audience. I came to see you speak when you were at my college a month ago, and I have to admit I'm pretty skeptical of the whole motivational self-help stuff. but your honesty and some of the wisdom you passed along really got my attention. I felt like you were talking directly to me, especially the stuff you said about taking personal responsibility for our own life. Since your talk, I feel so much more at peace with who I am, where I am going and I'm not as easily influenced by the negativity of others around me. It may not seem like a big deal - but to me it means everything. I hope to see you again so I can thank you in person." Xia Liang - Hong Kong, China
